about

The "comedown" song... lyrically this one is pretty self-explanatory: sometimes we need to slow down!! Of course, who can ever get the balance right? Not me, not yet anyway.
The music was about as intuitive as it gets, though the loping drum feel took some time to get right. I ended up putting on a few more harmonies than I originally planned, but the ones at the end of the second chorus are maybe my favorite on the album. And of course, being a guitar player, I knew the song had to end with a big guitar solo. ;-) If my producer side didn't (usually) override my guitar player side, they ALL probably would!
The solo, and chords supporting it, were actually written before the rest of the song, so maybe the rest was just an excuse for it to be on the album...
Keyboards were played by Rob Turner again. He added some beautiful layers to the song!

lyrics

Why is it we always feel as though
Life is going to stop if we just take our time?
Why do we feel like we're wasting away
If we don't fill up every moment
With something to do or say?

Now it's time to catch our breath
Now it's time... to make sense of it all

Think it's time to stop, just for a moment
And let our minds empty out
Take a look inside ourselves
And see what might come about
